WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT US…
Three years ago, my wife and I made a choice. No one made it for us, and we certainly didn’t want our kids to make it for us. We lived in Fort Myers, Florida. We loved living there and loved our church. However, we both had a problem with the heat and humidity. The high humidity in Florida was a problem for my wife, who has COPD, and it kept me from walking and working outside. Years ago I had been a pastor in Winona Lake, and we knew about Grace Village. We made a trip up here and toured Grace Village. We certainly liked what we saw! It just “felt right”.
We went back to Florida and put our house up for sale. It sold in less than a year. It was a difficult decision for us, but we knew it was the right one for us both. We have never regretted it. We love Grace Village. Our new friends are like a new family.
We both wanted to be in a place where we could be used. We wanted to come here while we could still be active and enjoy the activities and opportunities here. My hobbies are working and walking. I have helped the maintenance men here and the opportunities for walking are great all year. My wife has played piano for a chapel service. We have a great library here. Making Grace Village our home was not the end, but the beginning of a new life for us. We thank God he helped us make the choice.
This summer I held a 90th birthday party for my mom who lives at Grace in the dinning hall and everyone from administration to the kitchen staff could not have been more helpful ! thanks Grace Village Retirement Community.
My mom has been here for 2 yrs and we have been very happy with her care. Wonderful caring staff.
We’re very happy with Grace Village. We were treated very well during our visit. It’s a very friendly place. There’s a beauty parlor, a library, a carpentry shop, a bank, a chapel, a dining hall or dining room where you can go and eat if you want. Just about everything you need is right there. It’s a big, clean and well kept place; and there’s a doctor or nurse on duty all the time. It was a very pleasant experience, and that’s one of the reasons my husband and I will be moving in there as a couple. They have condos and apartments (and we’ll be in the apartments). They have like a guest house where you can have people come and stay overnight and have their own room. There are just a lot of amenities. The other advantage is that if you progress and get worse, you can go right in to their nursing home area.
